Origins

The game began life as a modification (mod) for the popular Half-Life video game. Two college students, Minh Le and Jess Cliffe created the mod and released it as a beta version in the year 1999. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the most popular game of the series, is a tactical first-person shooting game that pits two teams against each other in games that are objective.
